Current plans!

Mass Effect 3 is currently less than 3 weeks away, and the demo is dropping today. Quite a few people have been asking me whether I plan to do a checklist for ME3, or whether I plan on revising my first two lists with the ME3 connections.

As of right now, I can’t say. I’m going to wait until I actually play the game, and see how it’s structured, before I decide one way or another. I’d like to, but as of right now, my answer is a very firm… maybe!

Either way, I’ll post here when I’ve decided, so stay tuned!

Mass Effect 2 Galactic Checklist v1.7 – Released!

And it’s out, fixed, tweaked, and containing the Arrival content!

Enjoy, folks!

Only a day away.

1.7 will be released tomorrow. Those who’ve donated or provided beta-testing help will be getting it later today.

Thanks, everyone!

Beta Testing – Closed!

Got quite a bit of response for my request to beta test the 1.7 list, so I’m going to cap it there. Big thanks to everyone who’s expressed interest and everyone who has already sent me corrections and thoughts, I really appreciate your help.

Now to finish it off and get it all PDFed…

Feel like beta testing?

I have a beta version of my Mass Effect 2 Galactic Checklist version 1.7 up and running. I’m looking for a few people who are willing to go over it, make sure things are correct and everything is hunky-dory.

As of right now, here’s the changelist from the previous version:

- Added the Arrival quest, upgrades and planets
- Discounts added where applicable
- Weapons stats table corrected and updates as appropriate
- Minor errors fixed!

If you’re interested, shoot me an e-mail and let me know, and I’ll get the file to you. Please note – the beta version is not an interactive PDF. I’ll deal with the interactive form fields when it’s time for the final release.

Thanks!

On the Weapon Stats.

In the Mass Effect 2 checklist, I’ve included a table of information on the weapons in the game at the end of the upgrades checklist. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – the data found there is not my own.

The data is from both this discussion page from the Mass Effect Wiki, and from this page of raw data compiled by Arthellinus on GameFAQs.

If you have any questions or issues with the data, it would be best to discuss it with the original authors. I’ve listed it purely as a resource, and if there are further updates to my list, I will update the information there as necessary, but I don’t think I’ll be updating the list only to change the weapon stats table in future.

Thanks for your understanding!

Checking in!

Thanks for all of the e-mails, folks, I appreciate it. And believe me, I know – I’m just as anxious to be done with the list as you are to receive it! Just please, keep in mind that I do have other things going on beyond this particular project.

You’ll be happy to know that I’ve gotten up early this morning to get some more work done. As I mentioned in my last post, I had to do a bit of a rollback. As it stands right now, I’ve added the Arrival content, fixed the known errors, and done a bit of tweaking. I’ll be starting in on the weapons stats table soon. After that, it’ll be making it look pretty and then the PDF conversion.

Bumps in the Road

Hi guys!

The last few weeks have been pretty crazy for me, so I apologize for the lack of updates. Two weeks ago, I suffered catastrophic hard drive failure – luckily, my master lists are intact (thank you, SpiderOak!), but it’s taken time to get a new harddrive set up, get everything transferred/rescued, and get what I need reinstalled, on top of other commitments in my personal life, and, frankly, other distractions.

As well, an experimental version of 1.7 of my Mass Effect 2 list, one which included sections to record the choices you make in the game, just isn’t working. It ends up messing the formatting up royally, and adding too many pages, so I’m scrapping that. As it stands, the update to the ME2 list will be a straight update – just the Arrival content, some tweaks and fixes, and nothing exceptional. I’m still undecided on the weapons stats table; while I’ve said that it’s a straight copy-paste of data available elsewhere, the formatting and structure of the table itself (like every table in this kludge of a document) is messy and hard to work with. I’ve asked around to see if anyone would miss it, and the responses have been overwhelmingly in the nope category, so I can’t see myself fighting with it too hard.

The decision tracker might get reworked into a separate document, or as an extra page at the end of the document, but at the moment I’m just working on the base checklist, and we’ll see what happens after that.

As well, some of the unknown mineral values are still unknown to resources like the Mass Effect Wiki, and while I may try to spade it out on my own, I can’t make any promises.

So that’s where we are now. Stay tuned!

Updates coming soon!

I’ve begun work on the next version of the Mass Effect 2 checklist, and I’m considering a revision to the first game’s checklist, as well.

Quick question for you guys, though – how much would you miss the weapon stats table from the Mass Effect 2 list? When I first created the list, I inserted it just to fill in some white space, but that won’t be so necessary anymore, and since it’s basically just a copy and paste of information available elsewhere, I’m considering cutting it out. Input would be appreciated!

Thanks guys, and stay tuned for further news!

5000 checklists downloaded! Also, final ME2 DLC – March 29th!

Yay!

Can’t make any promises on how long it will take to update the ME2 checklist with the Arrival stuff, but I’ll do my best to have it done quickly!

The galaxy's a big place.

Good thing there's a handy checklist to help you keep track of your assignments, upgrades, the visited planets and more in Mass Effect.
